Im März war ich wieder mal im Naturschutzgebiet Hansag im Burgenland in Österreich. Auf einer meiner Rundtouren entdeckte ich auf einer Bullenweide ein paar Heuballen, die als Fütterung für die weidenden Bullen gedacht waren. Was mich jedoch elektrisierte waren einige Vögel, die immer wieder die offene Flanke der Heuballen anflogen. Ich positionierte mein Fahrzeug so, das ich die anfliegenden Vögel gut beobachten und vor allem fotografieren konnte. Besonders viel mir ein Rotkäppchen auf, welches die anderen Arten, unter anderem das Schwarzkehlchen, immer wieder vom Heuballen verjagte. Was ich durch den Sucher nicht sehen konnte, war die fette Beute, welches das Rotkehlchen bereits längst entdeckt hatte und mit einem schnellen Schnabelhieb verspeiste. Können Sie die fette Raupe auch entdecken? Dies ist schwer, sehr schwer sogar. Aber eine Herausforderung für Menschen  mit geschärftem Blick.

 I was once again in the nature reserve Hansag in Burgenland in Austria. On one of my roundtrips, I spotted a couple of hay bales on a bull pasture, which were intended as feeding for the grazing bulls. However, what electrified me were some birds, which repeatedly flew to the open flank of hay bales. I positioned my vehicle in such a way that I was able to observe the approaching birds and, above all, photograph them. Especially I found a Little Red Riding Hood, which chased the other species, including the black throats, again and again from the hay bale. What I could not see through the viewfinder was the fat prey, which had already discovered the robin long ago and eaten with a quick bite. Can you also spot the fat caterpillar? This is difficult, very difficult even. But a challenge for people with a keen eye.
